Trenchless sewer repair in Dallas
A failing sewer line under a Dallas home can be rebuilt from the inside, or replaced through two small pits, usually in a day. Here is how pipe lining and pipe bursting work, when each is the right call, and what to expect from a camera inspection before anyone quotes a repair.
Sewer Pipe Lining (CIPP)
A resin-saturated liner cured in place forms a new, jointless pipe inside the old one.

Pipe Bursting
A bursting head splits the old pipe while pulling new HDPE pipe in behind it, through two small pits.

Two ways to fix a sewer line in Dallas without a trench
Cured-in-place pipe lining pulls or inverts a resin-saturated liner into the cleaned host pipe and cures it into a new, jointless pipe inside the old one. It works from an existing cleanout, takes about a day, and is the answer for cracked, root-intruded or corroded lines that still hold their shape.
Pipe bursting pulls a bursting head through the old pipe from a pit at each end, splitting it outward while new HDPE pipe follows behind. It is the answer for collapsed, bellied or undersized lines that cannot be lined.
Which one a Dallas line needs is decided by a camera inspection, not by a sales pitch. A contractor who quotes a method before running the camera is guessing with your money.

What fails under Dallas County homes
Across the Plains and Texas, older neighborhoods have clay and cast iron laterals, and a surprising amount of Orangeburg pipe went in during the postwar building boom. Slab foundations are common in the south of the region, with cast iron drain lines underneath them.
Expansive clay soils that swell when wet and shrink hard in drought are the main enemy of sewer pipe here; they open joints, create bellies, and crack cast iron. Hot summers drive tree roots deep toward the moisture in a sewer line.
